Mary A. Dishinger of West Hempstead, a longtime resident of Manhasset and formerly of Erie, PA, died on August 12, 2000. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Dishinger. She is survived by her children, Thomas, Marilyn Byron, John, Susan Hogan and Donald; by her sister Gertrude Erickson and her brother, the Rev. John R. Erickson; and by 15 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Barnes-Sorrontino Funeral Home in West Hempstead. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas R. C. Church on Aug. 15 with interment at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury. Donations to the Alzheimer's Association in her name would be appreciated.
