Subject to weather, Plandome Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except emergency vehicles) on Friday, June 23. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the laying of the final asphalt roadway.

Preparation of the existing roadway surface will begin on Monday, and culminate with the final asphalt application Friday. Please do everything you can to avoid the area this week. In the event of rain, which would delay the laying of the asphalt, signs located at the north and south ends of the construction zone will give the new date of the closing.

While the laying of the asphalt roadway will constitute the completion of the bulk of the construction, various tasks must still be completed by the contractor. This means there will still be construction vehicles and workers in the area. Please continue to obey all traffic and speed signs until they are removed.

With the end of this necessary, but highly disruptive and complex project in sight, remember to continue to obey all speed limits, especially on village streets, and continue to follow the flag "person's" directions. The last day of school is June 23. Please be extra cautious with all the children who will be playing in the area.
