Manhasset High School was recently informed by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) that its varsity girls lacrosse team has been recognized for academic excellence. The Scholar/Athlete Award Program, initiated several years ago by NHSPHSAA, recognizes team academic excellence based on the cumulative grade point average of a representative number of team members. A statewide scholar/athlete team champion is selected in each sport.
Coach Tom Campolettano entered his team in the competition, and the top 11 members of his team had a cumulative average of 92.635. Manhasset finished with one of the highest grade point averages in New York State. Each of the team representatives will receive a recognition pin. Congratulations to Coach Campolettano and the following lacrosse scholar/athletes:
Katie Cook, Kristy Charbonneau, Whitney Blake, Katharine Connolly, Kiera Gilhooly, Carol Hotarek, Jilliam Milone, Kalli Kofinas, Carolyn Freeland, Stephanie Rexer, Liz Giove.
