Three Candidates for Two School Board Seats
There are two positions on the Manhasset Board of Education to be filled this spring and three candidates for those seats. Two of the seats are those of incumbent members of the school board, Thomas Killeen and Elizabeth Masone, both of whom are running for re-election. Also running is Deborah Klein.

Munsey Park Extends Tower Moratorium
At its April 12 meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Munsey Park voted "to extend its temporary moratorium on the filing of applications for the construction or erection of a telecommunication tower or accessory use." The vote was unanimous. The moratorium was set to expire on May 12. The new law extends it through Sept. 30. The original six-month moratorium was put in place at Nov. 10, 1999 public hearing. Munsey Park had hired Frederick P. Clark Associates, planning consultants, to review the regulations regarding telecommunications towers. The board determined that it was not prepared to enact regulations prior to the expiration of the moratorium and therefore extended it until Sept. 30.

White Lightning Improves to 3-0
Don't look now but another powerhouse is emerging in Manhasset lacrosse. The fourth grade girls White Lightning improved to 3-0 on the season with decisive victories over Bellmore and Lynbrook.
