The residents of Flower Hill will see an increase in their village tax bill for the 2000-2001 fiscal year. Announced at the village's annual meeting, Mayor James Damascus gave a brief overview of the new budget, noting that the increase was due to a number of factors including employee salary considerations, village equipment upgrades, roadwork projects, and continued maintenance and plantings throughout the village. On Saturday, April 8, the Manhasset White Lightning (girls 4th grade) opened their season with an 8-5 come-from-behind victory over the Mariners from Point Lookout.
