Board of Education Adopts 2000-2001 Manhasset School Budget
At its April 6 meeting, Manhasset's five-member board of education unanimously adopted the proposed budget for the 2000-2001 school year.

Taxes, Cable TV, Building Code on Busy Flower Hill Agenda
The residents of Flower Hill will see an increase in their village tax bill for the 2000-2001 fiscal year. Announced at the village's annual meeting, Mayor James Damascus gave a brief overview of the new budget, noting that the increase was due to a number of factors including employee salary considerations, village equipment upgrades, roadwork projects, and continued maintenance and plantings throughout the village.

White Lightning Strikes Mariners
On Saturday, April 8, the Manhasset White Lightning (girls 4th grade) opened their season with an 8-5 come-from-behind victory over the Mariners from Point Lookout. Manhasset was led by Kacie (Instant O) Overlander with four goals. Lauren Brennan, Laura Connors and Alyssa Marschassalla also scored for the Lightning.
