Reassessment on Horizon for County
Speaking at a packed news conference at the State Supreme Courthouse in Mineola on Tuesday, Nassau County Assessor Charles O'Shea called for a reassessment of all residential and commercial properties in the county. "It's an unusual day," Mr. O'Shea said in his opening statement. "It's February 29th and I will make the most of it. I will call for a reassessment of Nassau County's 415,000 real estate parcels, the largest assessing jurisdiction in New York State other than New York City."

PAL Boys Lacrosse Begins
The Manhasset PAL Boys lacrosse program will begin its 35th season on Saturday, March 4 at the Munsey Park field. As an annual tradition the PAL Boys Lacrosse ranks high on our town's activities. Some of the finest high school and college athletes have come from these ranks. There are currently representatives from Manhasset playing for Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Cornell, Duke, and Towson, to mention a few. Our current registrations are the highest ever. The goal of the Manhasset PAL Boys Lacrosse program is to teach the game through good sportsmanship, outstanding coaching, and association with fellow classmates.

Baseball and Softball Update
The Manhasset Baseball and Softball League is soon to be under way. To register, please go to Manhasset Sport Shop or Nancy Morris' State Farm Insurance, both on Plandome Road, as soon as possible. The official registration period is over, number of teams set, uniforms and equipment has been ordered. The late registration fee (after March 1) is $100 per player.
