Manhasset VFW Post 5063 Commander Selwyn "Jerry" Rudnick accepts the Perpetual Post Charter from VFW District #1 Commander Joseph Scordo.
Two awards were presented to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5063 of Manhasset during an official VFW ceremony conducted at North Hempstead Town Hall. Manhasset Post 5063 was honored by the presence of the following prominent VFW officers:
Harry C. Wurth, vice chairman, National Legislative Committee
Joseph Scordo, District #1 Commander
Robert Vinciguerra, District #1 Senior Vice Commander
Robert T. Spicer, Nassau County Commander
Joseph Scordo, on behalf of National VFW Commander-in-Chief John W. Smart, presented the prestigious Perpetual Post Charter to Manhasset Post 5063 for the post's accomplishments.
Charles Derderian membership chairman of Post 5063, received the VFW Meritorious and Distinguished Service Award from Robert Vinciguerra. Charles' expertise in recruiting new members helped to more than double Post 5063 membership. During his past seven years as membership chairman, Charles has received numerous VFW awards for his efforts to recruit life members.
Jerry Rudnick, commander and Charles Derderian, junior vice commander, are both original charter members and lifetime members of Manhasset VFW Post 5063.
