Marilyn Sheerin Dies at 49
Marilyn R. Sheerin, a resident of Plandome for many years, passed away at her home on Christmas Day, at the age of 49, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Edward F. Sheerin, and four children, a son Matthew, 25, of Boston, and three daughters, Janine, 22; Suzanne, 21; and Kate, 16, all of Plandome.

Varsity Boys Cross Country Team Recognized for Academic Excellence
The Manhasset High School Varsity boys cross country team has been recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) for academic excellence. The Scholar/Athlete Award program was initiated seven years ago by NYSPHSAA, and, based upon a team's cumulative grade point average, team champions are selected for each sport from high schools throughout New York State.
