Lois J. Guarino, a resident of Manhasset for about 30 years, died in Huntington before 5 p.m. on Dec. 1, 1999, of a kidney related illness. She was 83 years old. She is survived by her children, Mary, Joanne, Celia, Peter and James.

Helene M. White of 251 Old Mill Road in Manhasset died on December 1, 1999, of multiple myloma (bone cancer) and kidney failure.

She was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. She served as president of the North Shore Branch of the American Association of University Women (A.A.U.W.), the Cerebral Palsy Auxiliary, the Women's Club of The Congregational Church of Manhasset.

She is survived by her husband, Verne, to whom she had been married for 60 years; by her sons, Gerald and Rick; and by her granddaughters, Christy and Julie, who adored her.

A Memorial Service was held for Mrs. White at The Congregational Church of Manhasset on Saturday, Dec. 4. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Congregational Church of Manhasset.
