The Manhasset Baseball and Softball League, for boys and girls grades K through 8, will continue registrations for the spring 2000 season at Wiest Hall Gym at St. Mary's on the following dates: Sunday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Registration fees before January 2000, will stay at $60 per player, and will increase to $75 after the new year. Last year, there were significant costs associated with so many late registrations for the 812 player league. With the league expected to increase in players to over 1,000, and teams to more than 80, it is necessary to begin the process earlier than usual. We appreciate everyone's cooperation.

Look for announcements in Manhasset Press for four baseball and softball clinics, which will be geared to specific age groups this year. Registrations will be available during the clinics for late entries.

St. Mary's CYO basketball intramural programs for both boys and girls will continue with registrations at Wiest Hall Gym at St. Mary's on coming Sunday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.

For boys and girls this year, grades one through eight are eligible and there will be varying degrees of games, practices and clinics, depending on age and proficiency of the players.

Practices will begin on Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5, depending on the division, and games will end in early March. This year, Sunday practices and games will not start until 10:30 a.m. The fee is $60 per child.

Specific information on start dates, locations and times will be available at the registration tables on the above dates.

Please register at the assigned times so we can organize the various divisions and times smoothly since we expect approximately 1,000 boys and girls to participate this winter.
