Last week I witnessed a very unsettling incident on the grounds of the Manhasset MS/HS complex. On Monday, Sept. 27, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a parent, driving very recklessly, sped around the circular driveway going at least 35 mph - school grounds, driving 35 mph! This was not a teenager, whom we often blame for this type of activity. This was an adult, endangering the lives of the many students finishing their after school activities, watching the soccer game in progress, waiting for rides or just walking on campus. The 6th Precinct was notified and did respond.

I beg all drivers no matter what their age to slow down (there is a posted 15 mph speed limit) and drive with care on school grounds and in the neighboring vicinity before we have a tragedy. Our most precious commodity is at risk. Thanks.
