Kenneth D. Macdonald, age 77, a 12-year resident of Tequesta, FL died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 at the Edgewater Manor in Hobe Sound, FL. Born in the Bronx to the late Gordon and Lillian (Vela) Macdonald, he was raised in Boonton, NJ and resided in Manhasset for 41 years. Mr. Macdonald was the president of A.H. Vela Printing company (now know as Graphics Technology) in NYC. He was a US Naval aviator serving in WWII, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and a longtime member of the Port Washington Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kathryn, "Tassie," two sons, Kenneth D. Jr. (Barbara) of Glen Rock, NJ and Robert (Ann) of Manhasset; one daughter, Susan Christensen (Keith) of Boca Raton, FL; and five grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal in Tequesta, FL with Reverend Arthur James Spencer, Jr. officiating. Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Assoc., 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611-1676.
