  • NEWS: Park District Bids Farewell to Commissioner Jenkins

    The Manhasset Park District held a cocktail party at Port Washington Yacht Club on Sunday, Sept. 12, to honor Commissioner Charles Jenkins. Commissioner Jenkins resigned from the Park District this summer and longtime civic activist Patricia Roberts was named to replace him on the board. At the cocktail party, Commissioner Jenkins was honored by state, county and town officials for his long service to Manhasset. Also honoring him were the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Manhasset and the Manhasset Kiwanis Club. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: Bayview Residents Oppose Thomaston Rezoning

    Approximately 40 citizens turned out for a public hearing on Sept. 7 on the Village of Thomaston's proposal to rezone the property on the northeast corner of East Shore Road in Great Neck and Bayview Avenue in Manhasset. Approval of the rezoning would lay the legal foundation to allow for the construction of a senior compound with 226 units comprising 265,000 square feet rising above grade as much as six stories.
