The Council of Greater Manhasset Civic Associations, at its May 1999 meeting, installed a partial new slate of officers. Mr. John Minogue accepted the office of president; Mr. Richard Rodi that of 1st vice president and Mr. James Murray that of vice president. The offices of treasurer and recording secretary will continued to be filled by Mrs. Pamela Vincent and Ms. Norma Plett, respectively. Mrs. Patricia Roberts, formerly president and most recently vice president, has stepped aside to accept an interim appointment as a Manhasset Park District Commissioner. Mrs. Clark had been asked to stay on as president for another term but she declined, stating that affairs of business and personal natures precluded this. She said she will remain close to the Council and work on projects and committees through the millennium year. She is also president of the Terrace Manor Civic Association.

Mr. Minogue is the founder and a past president of the Bayview Civic Association and was a vice president of the Greater Council for two years before becoming president. He was actively involved in bringing the playground to the Mary Jane Davies Green and was an originator of the Annual Holiday Party for children at the Manhasset Theatre. Mr. Rodi is president of the Manhasset Park Civic Association and has been active with the Greater Council for years. Mr. Murray was a resident of Munsey Park for many years before moving to Norgate where he is active in the Norgate Civic Association. He has been an active member of the Greater Council as well.

The Greater Council membership is comprised of civic associations throughout Manhasset, both in the unincorporated areas of North Hempstead and in the incorporated villages. Representatives attend monthly meetings and both bring concerns of their areas for discussion and aid and give aid to those in other areas. The Council chiefly concentrates on issues that concern all of Manhasset and acts as a liaison with State, County and Town officials, with law enforcement members and with both School and Park District administrators. Civic association representatives are always welcome at meetings which are held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Council's mailing address is P. O. Box 600, Manhasset, NY 11030.
