Greater Council Gavel Is Passed On
The Council of Greater Manhasset Civic Associations, at its May 1999 meeting, installed a partial new slate of officers. Mr. John Minogue accepted the office of president; Mr. Richard Rodi that of 1st vice president and Mr. James Murray that of vice president. The offices of treasurer and recording secretary will continued to be filled by Mrs. Pamela Vincent and Ms. Norma Plett, respectively. Mrs. Patricia Roberts, formerly president and most recently vice president, has stepped aside to accept an interim appointment as a Manhasset Park District Commissioner.

Volunteer Recognition Awards to Long Island's Finest
The Long Island Volunteer Center, in partnership with Fleet Bank, recently hosted an awards breakfast to honor corporate representatives for their contributions in advancing volunteerism on Long Island by sharing their own time and talents outside the office and inspiring others to lend a helping hand. The award recipients were Geraldine and Leonard Genovese, Robert Van Deventer of Interfreight, and Thomas Ferrante of District Council No. 9 Joint Apprentice and Training Fund. The event was held at the Milleridge Inn Carriage House in Jericho.
