Carol Hotarek (left) and Julia Southard (right) celebrate winning gold medals at the New York State Empire Girls Lacrosse Tournament, held in Syracuse July 8 - 10. Carol started in the center position and Julia played goalie for the Nassau County team which ended the tournament undefeated allowing only 12 goals through the seven games played. Carol and Julia, who play for the Manhasset High School Varsity lacrosse team, were also honored June 14 at the Nassau County Girls Lacrosse annual awards dinner with all-county (Carol) and all-county honorable mention (Julia) honors.
