It seems that about once a year we are forced to repeat our request that anyone who sends a letter to the newspaper sign his/her name. We thrive on the mail we receive and believe that letters to the editor are read with interest by most of our readers. We have, as almost all newspapers have, a policy that letters must be signed. On rare occasions we will withhold the writer's name but we must have that name. The issue has arisen again because this week we received two letters which we would dearly love to print. One concerns parking on Plandome Road and the illegal renting out of parking spaces to out-of-town commuters. We hope that the writer of the letter has given her name to Commissioner Jon Kaiman and to Bruce Bent, chairman of the Plandome Road Commission so that they can follow up on her charges. The other concerns the coming elections and is a well-written thoughtful letter as to how minority parties can affect their outcome. One can understand the reluctance of the writers to go public but such an act of courage may be necessary. We urge you to write to us and please sign the letter and give us a phone number where you can be reached.
