As is generally known, the King Kullen/Kimco team will return to the North Hempstead Town Hall on Tuesday, July 27, for another hearing on its proposal for the Filene's Shopping Center. The group's former request for a change of zone in the property was turned down by the town board at a hearing on June 8 by a vote of 3-2.

Remember miniature golf? First popular in the 30's, these little courses usually had artifacts like little windmills, lighthouses and farmer's gates around which you would hit your ball. Well, the Town of North Hempstead has announced the opening of its Harbor Links Miniature Golf Course in Port Washington and there's not a windmill in sight. The course will officially open to the public tomorrow, July 23.
