June 12 marked the third running of the annual Kiwanis Club of Manhasset 5K fund-raising run to benefit the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at North Shore University Hospital. Manhasset chiropractor Dr. Eric Cataldi, this year's race director, reported the weather was perfect and more than 130 runners participated in the event. "Having participated in sporting events as part of the medical staff, the role of race director was a new and enjoyable experience."
This year's overall winner was Evan Wecksell of Great Neck and female winner was Lauren Brody of Sands Point.
Kiwanis thanks all those volunteers who helped to make this day a great success, and hopes to see all participants as well as friends, family and the rest of this wonderful community next year in support of this very important cause.
