Shelter Rock Tennis Club of Manhasset once again demonstrated its involvement with the Long Island community by hosting a tennis clinic on May 31 as part of the Long Island Jewish Family Festival.
The festive event, attended by over 2,000 people, was held at the Henry Kaufman Campgrounds in Melville and included a wide variety of performances and presentations for both adults and children. Shelter Rock Tennis Club arranged to have eight instructors introducing young children to the pleasures of tennis. They provided 15 junior tennis racquets and held a tennis clinic for several hours¬turning a basketball court into the "Shlomo Glickstein Tennis Court."
In recent weeks Shelter Rock also made a generous donation to the Great Neck UCF Tennis Tournament by contributing a gift valued at $30,000. Each participant in the tournament is to receive a full day as a guest of the club, including lunch for two and use of all the club facilities. In addition, the club will once again host the North Shore Sweethearts Tennis Tournament to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute during the week of July 26 to Aug. 1.
