Agnes F. Bordeman, a resident of Manhasset for the past 38 years, died on Friday, May 28, after a long illness.

The first of five children, she was born and raised in Troy, NY. She attended Catholic Central High School in Troy and graduated valedictorian from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, MD. She was a secondary school English teacher at Troy High School. After her children were grown, Agnes was employed by B. Altman & Co. for more than 10 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling and devoted much of her time to her family and grandchildren.

Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth; son, Kenneth Jr. and daughters Barbara B. Kearney and Nancy Zakrinski, and five grandchildren: Jeffrey, Bryan and Kerry Bordeman, Leanne Kearney and Sara Zakrinski. She is also survived by her brother, William Sheridan of Delaware, and sisters, Bette Folan of Albany and Marion Sheridan of Albany.

After reposing at Fairchild's Funeral Home, a Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset, followed by interment at Pinelawn Cemetery.

Elizabeth Brennan, formerly of Manhasset, died on May 19, 1999 in Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her husband, John Brennan, a respected golf writer who wrote for The New York Times and several other publications. He was a onetime Metropolitan Golf Writers Association Golf Writer of the Year.

Mrs. Brennan was born in 1903 in Poland but grew up in Bayside, NY. Her father, Peter Mileski, was a builder and store owner. She was attached to the early motion picture business on Long Island before marrying and moving to Manhasset in 1940 where she lived until the mid 1990s. Her automobile was always recognized by the vanity license plates ordered by her husband, "BBB," for Beautiful Betty Brennan. She was predeceased by her only child, the late Elizabeth M. Sanson of Edgartown, MA. She is survived by two sisters, Estelle Barron of Bayside, NY, and Gladys Locker of Oakdale, NY, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will include a wake at Fairchild & Sons Funeral Home on Northern Boulevard in Manhasset at 9 a.m., Mass at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset at 10:45 a.m. followed by burial in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing on June 3.
