  • NEWS: American Legion Post 304 Memorial Day Parade Preparations

    Francis V. Padar, commander of the Manhasset Post 304, American Legion and Richard E. Miller, parade chairman, have announced the line-of-march and schedule for the traditional Manhasset Memorial Day parade and for the attendant memorial services. All Manhasset residents, their families and friends are invited to join the Legion in this remembrance of the great sacrifice of these American heroes. FULL STORY

    Manhasset voters approved the school budget by a vote of 1147 to 444 on May 18. The voters elected Thomas Maimone to the board of education, voting for him over incumbent William D'Antonio 946 to 611. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Manhasset Baseball League Update

    The Manhasset Baseball and Softball League final registration tally for the spring 1999 season is 806 players on 62 teams. All players are invited to march in the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31. Please meet on Plandome Court at 9:30 a.m. with uniforms and sneakers. Memorial Day will also mark the first games at the new Valley Park Field as three third grade games will be played. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: MHS Boys Win Outdoor Track Division Championship

    On Monday, May 10, at North Shore High School, Manhasset's outdoor track team won its 22nd Division Championship over five teams--North Shore, Valley Stream South, Malverne, Jericho and Island Trees. Division champions were: Tory Dean (100 m), Mack Bradley (200 m and 400 m); Garvey Camilien (800 m), Anwar Huffman (high jump); Dwayne Baldwin (triple jump) and the relay teams 4x100 meters (Dwayne Yearwood, Blake Redford, Dwayne Baldwin, Tory Dean); 4x400 meters (Londre Blocker, DuJohn Hendricks, Anwar Huffman, Mack Bradley). Carlos Moya won the shot-put on his last throw with a personal best. FULL STORY
