Obituaries

Helen Fredericks of Manhasset died on May 6, 1999. She is survived by her beloved husband, Oliver, and by her children George, Jane Gilmore and Lynne Fredericks. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher, Brian and Ellen Gilmore, and her son-in-law, Dennis Gilmore. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Fairchild Funeral Chapel in Manhasset. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Manhasset on Monday, May 10, with interment following at St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing.

Dr. Frederick A. Hill of Ridge, L.I., formerly of Manhasset, died on May 7, 1999, at the age of 86. He was a retired surgeon who had practiced in Manhasset. He is survived by his wife, Anne; his children, Frederick E. and John P. Hill, Anne Marie Fitzgibbon, Mary Berde and Kathleen Olson; and by seven grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Alexander-Tuthill Funeral Home in Wading River. An American Legion Service was held for Dr. Hill on Monday. The funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 11, at St. Mark's R. C. Church in Shoreham with interment at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Avenue, Washington, D.C. 20017.
