The Manhasset School Community Association, Inc. has always endeavored to enrich the lives of Manhasset Students. The goal of the SCA is to foster a united effort between the school and community which "will secure for every child the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and ethical education."
Our school district is one of the finest in the country. It provides a wealth of opportunities for students at all levels to achieve their very best. The list of academic awards won by our students is quite impressive. Our graduates have a high rate of acceptance into the very best colleges and universities.
All of this is due to the dedication and hard work of the administrators, teachers, support staff, students and parents. It is not, however, only the students who benefit. It is the entire community which reaps the reward of any excellent school district benefiting from increased home values and a thriving business district.
The board of education has striven to create a budget that is reasonable and fiscally responsible. It is incumbent upon us all to support this budget and continue to enjoy a sound school system in a very desirable community. Exercise your right to vote and keep our school district healthy.
Joanne Kinsey
Executive President
Manhasset School Community Association, Inc.
This letter is sent in support of Tom Maimone for election to the Manhasset School Board.
Tom grew up in Manhasset and is a graduate of Manhasset High School. He and his wife Joan are strong believers in public education and have their children in the Manhasset Public Schools (grades 2, 4 and 7). Tom is dedicated not only to helping his own children grow and develop but also gives freely of his time to all of our children in his capacity as a coach and a commissioner of the Roslyn Little League. Numerous Manhasset boys and girls play in that league and have benefited both from Tom's coaching and from his time and efforts as a commissioner. Ask a parent whose child Tom has coached about the type of person he is. They will tell you about his fairness, humor, knowledge and compassion. Although Tom is committed to helping our children he is also a fiscally responsible person who will demand financial accountability from our schools and from Albany.
We are indeed fortunate that Tom Maimone is running for Manhasset School Board and I urge everyone to come out and vote for him on May 18.
