Madeleine Wells Gale, 85, formerly of Port Washington, died on April 12, 1999. Born in St. Albans, she was the daughter of Thaddeus and Isabel Otis Wells and wife for 56 years of the late Russell Raddon Gale. Mrs. Gale attended NYU as a music major and was a member of the Congregational Church of Manhasset. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Gale Olds of Dryden, NY and Susan Gale Zaremba of Manhasset; three sons, Peter Addison Gale of Silver Spring, MD, Christopher Gale of Chatham, NJ and David Gale of Gardner, MA; a sister, Genevieve Wells Paul of Merrick; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the First Parish Church, 5627 Sound Ave., Northville, NY at 11 a.m. on June 26.
