Unlike the past few years, this year there will be a contested election for a seat on the Manhasset Board of Education. Mr. William D'Antonio of Munsey Park, whose term expires, is running for re-election. He is being opposed by Mr. Thomas Maimone of Flower Hill. FULL STORY

More than 200 parents and community leaders in attendance at a community-wide forum on April 21, heard the statistics on drug and alcohol use among Manhasset youth, as assessed by a recent survey. FULL STORY

The Manhasset Boys Lacrosse Team (10-2) has won a couple of big games in the last two weeks. On April 17 the team beat New Canaan, CT, in New Canaan's beautiful new turf stadium, 13-7. This was Manhasset's first win in the Battle of the Sound over a three year period. The win was a team effort with excellent goal tending by Aidan Schmidt (11 saves) and the defense--Jeff Dussich, Tim Dwyer and Daehwan Kim. The scoring was by attackman Skip Dunphy (four goals), Sean Denihan (one goal, one assist), Dan Ross (one goal, three assists) and midfielders Don Scott (three goals, three assists), Chris Mucciolo (two goals, three assists), John Calderone (one goal) and Chris Jagenburg (one goal).
