Alice Mitchell of Old Brookville, formerly of Manhasset, died on April 5, 1999 at age 74. She was the beloved wife of John L. Mitchell, loving mother of Jackie Sullivan, Donna Avedon and Debrah Mitchell. Dear sister of Madeline McGuire, Robert McDonald and the late Rita Whittenburg. Proud grandmother of Jacqueline, Ryan, Lauren, Kimberly, Allison, Bradley and Jonathan. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Fairchild Sons, Inc., Manhasset.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, April 8, at St. Mary's R. C. Church in Manhasset with interment following in Holy Rood Cemetery. Family requests donations be made to Hospice of Westbury.

Lucille F. Yorio, a longtime Manhasset resident, passed away in her sleep on March 27. She was born and raised in Brooklyn. In 1937, she married William M. Yorio, who was her devoted husband of 62 years, until his passing last year. In 1952, the Yorios moved to Manhasset where they resided for almost 40 years until they opted to relocate to a retirement community in Ridge. Mrs. Yorio had many interests, but none greater than her family. She was an avid traveler who had the opportunity to visit some 80 countries throughout the world with her husband. Mrs. Yorio moved back to Manhasset three years ago. She was the loving mother of the late Anthony M. Yorio and is survived by her son William T. Yorio, his wife Jacqueline, and their three children, Dana, Regina and Paul. A funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's on March 30 with interment at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
