  • NEWS: Manhasset Welcomes Candidate Bill Bradley

    Last November when Manhasset voters left their polling places they were met by students from Manhasset High Schools who were conducting an exit poll. The pollsters were students in Elizabeth Ploeger's advanced placement government class and they elicited 1400 responses from Manhasset voters. They returned to school and entered the responses they had received into computers and then analyzed the results. One of the questions gave voters an opportunity to express their preference for a candidate for president in the 2000 election. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: Popular Plandome Postmistress Says Goodbye

    When Barbara Berleth retired from the United States Post Office in Plandome last week, she was overwhelmed by the outpouring of affection shown her by the Plandome residents. Mayor Brian J. Vincent and the board of trustees presented her with a plaque that read: FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: St. Mary's Hockey Wins Fourth State Title

    St. Mary's varsity hockey team won their fourth New York State championship in five years over the weekend in Glens Falls. St. Mary's opened up with Lancaster from the Buffalo area and defeated them 6-3. Brian Boyle, Rob Scheer and John Keller each scored two goals. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: On The Bay

    Sunday, March 28 was a perfect sailing day for frostbiters. With winds up to 14-15 knots, gusting to 20, the Race Committee ran 8 races and one crew race. At one point, white caps were seen on the bay. RC members were pleased with their new grill, which is now anchored to the Worry Wart to prevent it from catching the wind and sailing into the bay. All in all, it was a great day to be on the water. FULL STORY
