On Sunday, March 21, 54 managers and coaches of both the Manhasset Baseball and Softball Leagues participated in a coaches clinic held at Manhasset High School. The drills and presentations were led by "Baseball and Softball Dynamics," a group of baseball and softball instructors who gave advice, demonstrated drills and techniques, distributed sample practice routines and answered various questions for the coaches and managers.

The girls Softball League held evaluations this past weekend and all girls who have signed up will be called in the next week or so by their new manager. Practices will begin right after Easter. The K-2 girls and the K-1 boys do not start until Saturday, April 10. Specific times and locations to be announced.

The boys baseball schedule begins on March 27. The schedule follows:

2nd grade Munsey Park 4-5:30 p.m.
3rd grade Memorial Field 1-3 p.m.
4th grade Memorial Field 3-4 p.m.
5th grade MHS Jr. HS 4-5:30 p.m.
6th grade MHS Jr. HS 2-4 p.m.

The same schedule will be followed for Sunday, March 28. It is important to make an effort to attend both sessions so that the team managers will have a chance to see each player in action. After these dates, the teams will be drafted and team practices will begin just after Easter break.

Opening Day will be Saturday, April 17.

There are still team sponsorships available for the younger grades in both the boys and girls league. Please call 627-1384 for more information.

Golf registration for the Outing at Harbor Links in Port Washington on Monday, April 19, has been strong and there are still some openings left. Please call for more information.
