I enjoyed reading and thank you for the article on the Plandome Manor elections. It seems that many serious issues face the small village of Plandome Manor and therefore this election could be perceived as one of hidden agendas.
I attended the last three village meetings and have heard many residents' concerns about: environment, historically significant structures, the possibility of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church purchasing a five-acre land parcel between Stonytown Road and Manhasset Woods Road, proposals from Nassau County to place a fountain in the pond adjacent to Plandome Country Club, the possibility of the Science Museum expanding its catering business, and their endeavors to evict the village for the use of some 400 square feet of office space at the Science Museum.
What concerns me is the attendance records at village meetings for some of the candidates and whether or not it is appropriate for any member of a community to run when they have strong affiliations to any of the aforementioned organizations which might be perceived as a conflict of interest. I just want to know that anyone representing the Village of Plandome Manor has its best interest as his primary agenda.
