  • NEWS: Comptroller Parola Pulls No Punches

    Nassau County Comptroller Fred Parola addressed the Community Liaison Committee of Manhasset on Friday, Feb. 19, at North Hills Village Hall. After a few introductory remarks, Comptroller Parola told his audience that the Nassau County budget "predicted a zero deficit. There could be a real deficit of $150 million.   • NEWS: Rotary Clubs Continue Honduran Mission

    Three months ago, through a fortuitous collaboration of members of various Long Island Rotary Clubs, a 40-foot container of relief supplies left a JFK airport terminal bound for Honduras and the victims of Hurricane Mitch.     The Manhasset Soccer Crusaders (Boys under 12) have been awarded the 1998 Sportsmanship Award by the Long Island Junior Soccer League. The award is given to the team by a vote of the coaches, league officials and referees.
