Village elections in Manhasset will be held on Tuesday, March 16, between noon and 9 p.m. The sole exception is the Village of North Hills which holds its election in June.
Elections in Flower Hill, Munsey Park, Plandome and Plandome Heights are uncontested. The only contested election will be in Plandome Manor, where two former trustees are running for mayor and there are five candidates for two trustee positions.
Running for mayor are Carlo Manganillo of Elm Sea Lane and Thomas E. O'Neill of Circle Drive. Mr. O'Neill has served as deputy mayor under Mayor Declan Meagher, who is not running for re-election.
Current trustees Barbara U. Simon of Lake Road and Daniel E. Weil of Circle Drive are running for re-election. Running against them are Kevin B. Connolly of Heritage Way, Thomas P. O'Malley of Papermill Road and Dean Pappas of Heritage Way.
We will have a story on the Plandome Manor election in our March 4 issue, when all concerned are back from vacation.
In Flower Hill, which has a seven member board, Harry J. Mulry Jr., Tab M. Hauser and Charles W. Weiss are running unopposed for three trustee positions.
In Plandome Manor, Mayor Brian J. Vincent is running for re-election, as are trustees A. Scott Wilson and Michael J. Donoghue.
Munsey Park Mayor Harry Nicolaides is running for re-election as is trustee Dr. Edwin C. Tan. Albert T. Jaronczyk is running for the seat currently held by Richard Drago who has decided not to run for another term.
In Plandome Heights, incumbent trustees Bart A. Giusto, Marian Endrizzi and James N. Hills are running unopposed.
