Since my family moved to Manhasset nearly three years ago, we have been impressed by the high level of community involvement, the strong tradition of philanthropy and the excellence of the athletic teams. These attributes can be further enhanced with a local YMCA. Through athletic facilities, nursery schools, day camps, child care and senior programs the YMCA organization strives to "enhance individual and family values."

From its Mission Statement, the YMCA of Long Island states that it "is the premier, not-for-profit, community-based service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of children, adults and families through programs that build spirit, mind and body." We can bring a YMCA to Manhasset. The first step in this process is to have community leaders informally meet with the YMCA organization to determine support for the project. If you are interested in participating in any way, please contact: Brian Lavin, 70 East Gate, Manhasset, NY 11030.
