Plandome May Ban Through Truck Traffic
Highway Commissioner Henry Sikorski, presented the board with a draft report from the Sear-Brown Group that determined the feasibility of using an alternative route for non-local truck traffic on Plandome Road. The alternative route identified for the diverted truck traffic begins with the intersection of Plandome Road/Northern Boulevard. Instead of heading north-south on Plandome Road, trucks would continue east-west on Northern Boulevard to the intersection of Northern Boulevard/Port Washington Boulevard.

Talks on the possible installation of a wireless communications system within Flower Hill continued at this month's village meeting where board-invited representatives from Metricom were present for a presentation and question and answer session with the residents of Flower Hill.

The members of the fifth grade girls CYO soccer team received their trophies at a dinner at Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club. The girls were also informed that they were voted the Sportsmanship of the Year Award by the league and the CYO.

The Manhasset High School Physical Education Department is proud to announce that Lisa Visentin and Dan Macdonald have been selected as outstanding physical education students.
