Virginia S. Murphy died on Sept. 9, 1998 at the age of 85. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert A. Murphy. She is survived by her children, Virginia D'Isidori, Robert A. Murphy Jr., Stephen V. Murphy and Raymond G. Murphy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Diane Hack, Justine Cody, Jennifer and Robert D'Isidori; Georgina and Anabel Murphy; Bryan and Gannon Murphy; and Nora, Brendan and Conor Murphy; and by her great-grandchildren, Daniel and Gabriel Hack and Barnes and Myles Murphy.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's RC Church with interment in Holy Rood Cemetery under the direction of the Fairchild Funeral Chapel in Manhasset.
