Fun was had by all as more than 250 grandmas, grandpas, moms, dads and kids gathered under the yellow-and-white striped tent on the Manhasset Public Library's patio for naturalist Bill Fix and his show: "Predators--Guardians of the Environment."

Sewers A Possibility in Manhasset's Future
State Senator Michael Balboni was the guest speaker at the Manhasset Rotary Club on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The club now meets at Manhasset Bay Yacht Club. The senator first spoke warmly about the Manhasset Chamber of commerce's street fair which had been held on the previous Saturday. "I was there with two of my children," he said, "and it was really pleasant. The children could run around without me having to worry about them. There's a wonderful quality of life here in Manhasset."

On The Bay
A report about the Plandome Field and Marine Club and its subsidiary, the Sunfish Club, is timely. In season, every Sunday at high tide, the Sunfish Club conducts races in the southern end of the bay. This year there were 24 competitors. For the 10th consecutive year, Matt Walsh won the season championship. He beat the nine-year, non-consecutive record of Chuck Durban whom he (Matt) truly admired.
