Patricia Nora Jennings, daughter of Brian and Ann Jennings, died suddenly on Sept. 19 at the age of 29.
Patty, as she was known, graduated from Manhasset High School in 1987 and received a bachelor of arts degree from Siena College in Loudonville, NY, in 1991. She received a master of arts degree from St. John's University in 1994 along with a Certificate in International Law and Diplomacy of the Department of Government and Politics. Most recently she worked as a Specialist-Public and Operator Services-for the NYNEX Corporation in New York City.
Patty took an active interest in varied social and political causes. In 1994 she spent two months teaching democracy to Russian bureaucrats in Moscow through the Global Volunteer Program. She volunteered over a two-year period at the Veterans Hospital in New York City and while a student at Siena College she worked with AIDS babies at the Farano House in Albany. She also worked with the Special Olympics Committee and several homeless coalitions.
Patty is survived by her seven brothers and sisters( Elizabeth Miller (Bruce), Brian Michael, Mary Hallyer (William), Katherine Sydnor (Tony), Christopher (Sheri), James (Jean) and Annie Weber (John). In addition she is survived by 16 nieces and nephews.

John J. Lorenz, 86, died on Sept. 24, 1998 in Symmes Hospital, Arlington, MA. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Sarah. He is survived by his children: Robert Lorenz of Dallas, TX; Richard Lorenz of Columbia, MD; and Peggy Sullivan of Winchester, MA. and his grandchildren: Christopher Lorenz, John David Lorenz, Katherine Ann Lorenz, John Joseph Lorenz, Sr. Lisa Lorenz of the Franciscan Order, Jeffrey Sullivan, Christopher Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan; and by his great-grandchildren: Rachel Lorenz, Thomas Lorenz and Katelan Lorenz.
Mr. Lorenz was a resident of Manhasset before moving to Winchester, MA. He worked as a Postal Inspector for the US Postal Service until his retirement in 1967. Mr. Lorenz spent many years working as a volunteer at the North Shore Medical Center before moving to Winchester. He was also active in AARP activities.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of The Fairchild Funeral Home in Manhasset. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset on Monday, Sept. 28, with interment following at Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Flushing.
