I would like to correct an important detail as reported by the Manhasset Press in the Sept. 17 issue, regarding the expansion options for the Manhasset Public Library. The building that my company, Adam Art Center, occupies is not for sale.

My family and I have built this business and continue to operate it as we have for more than 45 years. We consider ourselves a part of this community and enjoy being so. Over the years, we have watched many of our customers raise their families and they in turn have raised their families. We are poud to have friendships and bonds within the community reaching back to the early 1950s when my father first opened.

I am pleased that our community takes such a strong interest in the welfare of our schools and public library. That is one reason that Manhasset is so desirable a place to live. Our residents are committed to maintaining the quality of education and to constantly improving the level of services offered by the library. I support these efforts, however, Adam Art Center is not moving.

In fact, I have recently renewed our lease for this location. Furthermore, I have received assurances from the attorney for the landlord that the building is not on the market. As much as I support the library, Adam Art Center continues to grow and will be part of this community for many years to come.
