In response to many complaints sent by town residents regarding fees charged at Harbor Links, Supervisor May Newburger stated that a survey was conducted of public golf courses in the area and the fees set for Harbor Links were fair and reasonable.

What Supervisor Newburger failed to state was that the survey included public courses, privately owned and run for profit. The proper way to have conducted the survey would have been to conduct the survey of municipal and town courses only and she would have come up with an entirely different set of figures.

It is obvious to me that Supervisor Newburger wants to keep Harbor Links exclusive and compete with the local country clubs. Harbor Links is out of reach financially for the average town resident.

Golfers are not fools. They know the fees charged around the area.

I am a registered Democrat who votes in all primary and general elections and voted for Supervisor Newburger on the issue of a town course as well as other issues.

All I have to say now is, Hello Republicans, here comes my vote as well as that of my friends and family.
