Historic Plandome Manor House in Jeopardy
A Plandome Manor house which was built about 1700 has recently been bought and there is concern that the purchaser may wish to demolish it and subdivide the two-and-a-half acres on which it stands, along with several outbuildings. The property is known as the Nicoll manor house and is situated at 1257 Plandome Road where it makes the left turn along the edge of Leeds Pond.

Plandome to Purchase New Fire Truck
The village is preparing to purchase a new fire truck. According to John Blascovich, chairman of the Plandome Fire Department Truck Committee, several factors have contributed to this decision. With the development of Manhasset Glen and the modification of many of the 438 homes in the community, modern equipment is required to handle a more complex community. The age of the present equipment and changes in NFPA standards have also contributed to this need.

The Mill Pond Model Yacht Club's reception held at the Port library on July 14, was very successful. About 65 people (representing all aspects of boating) came, some before the party's start at 7:30.
