At the Annual Reorganization Meeting of the Manhasset Public Schools Board of Education, held Thursday, July 2, Dr. Vincent Calluzzo was re-elected president of the board of education for the 1998-99 school year. Dr. Calluzzo, who will be serving his second year as school board president, has been a board of education member for six years. He was re-elected to his third three-year term of office in May.

Mrs. Barbara Donno was re-elected vice president for the coming school year. She has been a board member for three years and was re-elected to her second three-year term of office in May. Dr. Calluzzo and Mrs. Donno were administered the official oath of office by Dr. Irene F. Halpin, assistant superintendent for personnel.

William D'Antonio, member-at-large, is serving his final year of a three-year term. He has been a board member for five years.

Mr. Thomas Killeen and Mrs. Elizabeth Masone are serving their second year of a three-year term of office. Mr. Killeen has been a board member for one year and Mrs. Masone has been a board member for seven years.

In official reorganization business, the board approved the following positions:

The board approved the following actions:

Reaffirmation of Policies on Investment, Purchasing, Student Conduct and Student Discipline - as adopted during the 1997-98 school year.

Official Newspapers - Manhasset Press and Newsday

Meetings - The board's regularly scheduled meetings to be held on the first and third Thursday of each month, except for the months of July and August, or such other times as the board may establish.

Gas Mileage - The gas mileage be set at the current IRS rate of .325 cents per mile.

Readoption of All Previous Policies - The board readopt all previous policies and regulations for the school year Sept. 1 to June 30, 1999.

Authorization for the Superintendent to Make Budget Transfers - The superintendent is authorized to make budget transfers based on the authority granted by Section 170.2 (L) of the Commissioners regulations.

Per Diem Substitute Rates - per diem substitutes providing services less than 20 cumulative days receive $95 per day; greater than 20 cumulative days receive $105 per day and permanent substitutes receive $105 per day.

Designation of Depositories - Fleet Bank, European American Bank, Smith Barney-Lehman, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith, State Bank of Long Island, Chase Manhattan Bank, Northfork Bank.

Safekeeping and Collateralization - eligible securities used for collateralization shall be held by the following Banks and Trust Compaies subject to security and custodial agreements: Bank of New York, Key Bank, European American Bank.
