On any given day, any team in the PAL Intramural Lacrosse Senior Division (5th and 6th grade) can beat any other. This Saturday Syracuse had its way with Maryland 7-5 in a hard-fought contest. The Syracuse scoring was spread among four players: Mike Emmauelidis, Max Cox, Dan D'Agnes each had two goals and Matt Kingston chipped in one. Good defense was the difference. Defenseman Dan Cotter was outstanding. Maryland moved the ball well. Gavin Petracca led with two goals and one assist, Andrew Abbott one and one, Bob Moulton, JJ Kennedy one each.

In the second game of the three, in another tough match, Princeton edged Navy 10-8. Seven players on Princeton scored with a display of unselfish ball handling - a compliment to the coaches, Miller and Blake. Colin Finerty, Max Himler, Colin Molinari, Chris Conoly, one and two, Mike Hanna, Mike Sama and John Powers each tallied one goal. In this free wheeling game, the offense had the edge over defense. It took Chris Petracca, with 10 saves in the goal, and considerable help by Evan Petracca on defense to maintain the winning score. Navy never quit. Brian Connors was outstanding with four goals and one assist, Colin Grimes two goals and three assists, Reed Vaughan one and one and Bob Genovesse one goal.

In the final game of the day, Johns-Hopkins outlasted Virginia 11-7. Seven Hopkins players scored - take a bow, coaches Morrison and Cardiollo for emphasizing that it is a team game. Brian Mullen pumped in four goals, Mike Young one goal and an outstanding four assists, Brendon Wilkerson one goal, one assist, Joe Zaccdria two goals, Brian Zaremba, Kevin Kitt, Brendon McDonough, one apiece. Virginia's scoring: Jack Cullen and Paul Webber, three goals and one assist, Chris Finn one and one.

The Junior Division (3rd and 4th grades) completed their slate of games. Georgetown bested North Carolina 10-4. McDonnell lead NC with four goals and one assist. Heske and P. Miller two goals each, with one and two assists, respectively. Dodge chipped in one score and one assist. The score doesn't indicate the kind of game the Tarheels played. The four goals were spread among Brian Coggin, Anthony Celifarco, Adam Amato and Jim Mulderrig who also added an assist. Emery Clark and Mike Brennan's passing was outstanding. In the goal, Mike Trainor had 12 saves. Mike Fee and Dillon Harris used good checking skills to halt many Georgetown drives.

Hopkins bested Navy 9-6. The offense was spread: C. Cerillo had two goals and an assist, C. Stark two goals while five other players each scored one goal: S. Keckerson, D. Karges, C. Baugher, J. Melvin, J. Wenk. The Navy team played well. J.T. Milone, Frank Coughlin were standouts. Brendan McGann was very good in the goal.

Boston College and Umass both went home happy with a 5-5 flat-footed tie at the end of the day. Billy Bitter, Dan Brugal, Jonathan Brugal, Scott Herdemian, David Nebel were all outstanding offensively for Umass. Duncan Smith made eight saves in the cage.

In keeping with the tradition of many years, the PAL Boys Lacrosse Teams will march in the Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 25. Coaches and players meet at 9:30 a.m. at Plandome Court to organize.
