Anthony J. Ruggiero, known fondly as Tony, died peacefully in his sleep on April 15, 1998 at the age of 84.

He was a native of Manhasset, born in 1914. Following graduation from Manhasset High School, he served in the army during World War II on the Aleutian Islands for four years.

Upon returning to Manhasset, he worked at Town Hall Pharmacy, where he was dedicated, caring and truly enjoyed his work for the next 52 years. At age 82 he retired.

He will be forever remembered for his friendly laugh, pleasant smile and uncanny ability to make you feel good with just a few warm words, behind which was genuine kindness.

During the two years of his retirement, he enjoyed walking daily on the beach and conversing with past customers of the pharmacy and newly found friends.

Anthony was pre-deceased in 1974 by his beloved wife Sceva Cowart. Even after her death he remained lovingly faithful to her.

He is survived by his daughter Joyce, sister Katherine and brothers William and Philip.
