In an uncontested election for members of the Manhasset Board of Education, Board President Vincent Calluzzo and Board Vice President Barbara Donno are running for reelection to their present seats. In a telephone interview Mr. Calluzzo said that, although he considered not running for a third term, he believes that given the fact that School Superintendent Maria Petraglia has decided to leave the district, the board needs experienced people on board. "I would like to see the building projects completed," he said, "and the continuation of our strong academic programs." He added, "whether people believe it or not, I'm a fiscal conservative."

In a prepared statement, Mrs. Donno said: I am proud of the direction our school district has taken. It does not come about through magic but rather by the hard work and dedication of many people. I look forward to my reelection to the board of education so that I can continue my goal of positive change to benefit the children of our community."
