The new Harbor Links golf course will, as advertised, most certainly be ecologically sound. For North Hempstead golfers, however, it will be an economic bust. A resident, for weekday play, will have to pay $37, a senior $25. Carts are $30 for two players.

Any Nassau resident can play 18 holes at Eisenhower Park for $14, a senior with a free Leisure Pass can play for $7 (18 holes).

The lucky residents of Glen Cove can pay for a $40 yearly permit (seniors $30) and play 18 holes for $14. Carts $22 for two players.

None of the courses charge for a tee-time permit (Harbor Links $50). Instead they charge $2 or $3 for each tee-time request.

Hopefully our representatives at Town Hall will review these charges before the July opening. A town course should favor town people, not exploit them.
