After having served three five-year terms as a trustee of the Manhasset Public Library, I have decided not to run for the board again. I am pleased that Carol Ascrizzi has presented herself as a candidate for the seat that I have held.
Carol Ascrizzi is especially well qualified to serve as a trustee of our library. Having served one year on the board already in the seat vacated by a previous trustee, Carol is well aware of the issues and problems facing the board at the present time. She was active in the Friends of the Manhasset Public Library and was president of that organization when she was asked to serve on the board of trustees.
Carol and her husband, Vic, have been residents of Manhasset for 18 years. They have three children who are now attending Manhasset Public Schools. Victor Ascrizzi has been exceedingly generous in donating raffle prizes to the Friends of the Library in their fund raising activities.
As president of the board of trustees this year, I have been grateful to Carol for her quick understanding of issues, her decision-making skills, and especially of her knowledge of the Manhasset community. I urge the residents of Manhasset to come to the library on April 8 to vote for Carol Ascrizzi as trustee.
