Rosemary Dillon Myers McHenry died March 19, 1998 in Trumbull, CT. She was born October 22, 1919 in Bridgeport, CT.
Daughter of the late Eugene R. Myers, Sr. and Mary Ivers Myers of Bridgeport.
Rosemary attended Bridgeport Normal School and New Haven State Teachers College and obtained a master's degree from Columbia University. She joined the US Navy in 1943, as a Wave and was stationed, as a link trainer, in various naval stations, including Corpus Christi. She was honorably discharged in 1945.
Rosemary taught elementary school at Greens Farms School in Westport and was one of the few, if not the first, female lay instructors at Fairfield University, leaving there in 1952 to continue her education at Columbia University.
Rosemary married George Patrick McHenry at the Church of the Assumption in 1960. George died in December, 1991.
Rosemary achieved accreditation as a school principal and as education supervisor in the Great Neck School system and served 31 years there, until retirement, with commendation, in 1984.
She and George maintained their residence in Plandome Heights.
Since George's death, Rosemary has been a resident at Glengariff Health Care Center in Glen Cove, moving just recently to St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull, CT.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene R. Myers of Costa Mesa, CA and nieces Virginia Collins, Milford, CT; Alice Klein, Branford, CT, Rosemary Recupero, Stratford, CT; Patricia Lake, Costa Mesa, CA and nephews Peter Kozlowski, Ted Kozlowski and Stanley Kozlowski, all of Bridgeport, CT and Eugene D. Myers, Mission Viejo, CA.
Patrick W. Fremont of Manhasset died on March 16, 1998. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Rita. He is survived by his children: Richard, Patrick, Veronica and Kenneth and by many grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Fairchild Funeral Chapel in Manhasset. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Manhasset on Thursday, March 19, with interment following in St. Charles Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
Frank E. Finnegan Jr. 67, of Port Washington, a former resident of Manhasset, died on March 9, 1998, of pancreatic cancer. Mr. Finnegan, a sales executive, was retired from the building products industry. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Nuss). Other survivors include his sons, Timothy, Michael and his wife, Margaret, and Patrick; grandsons Christopher, Daniel and Matthew; a sister, Elizabeth Frederick, a niece and two nephews.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Fairchild Funeral Directors of Manhasset. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Aloysius R. C. Church, Great Neck, followed by interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY.
