On Sunday, March 15, former California Angel pitcher Jimmy Bisceglia led a pitching clinic for more than 40 young pitchers from the Manhasset Baseball League. The players picked up pitching and throwing tips, and worked on pitching delivery and fielding. During a question and answer period, the players learned that Bisceglia had a harder time pitching to Craig Biggio than to Ken Griffey Jr.!
The next free clinic will be on Sunday, March 29, at Manhasset High School gym from 4 to 5:30 p.m. This clinic will feature Coach Rich Hess of MHS and several of his veteran players as they teach the K through sixth graders defensive skills for catchers, infielders and outfielders.
The player evaluation schedules are now set. It is very important that each player participate in each session to ensure a fully competitive league.
