The last time I looked, the Bill of Rights was still in force, Mr. Lavery. I find myself not "politically correct" in some of my thinking these days, but I never dreamed that my beautiful Christmas wreath on my own front door would offend someone.

Leaving the wreath up until spring, I've been told, is a tradition in upstate New York and part of New England and, I suppose, at some homes in Manhasset. These wreaths harm no one, symbolize nothing but good cheer and continue the welcoming atmosphere of the Christmas holidays.

I find it extremely offensive and rather frightening that someone should find my benign gesture of gladness and hospitality offensive.
