Robert Rule, Cornell '72, and John F. Driscoll, University of Virginia '80 have been named to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. They will be inducted this summer during the 1998 International Lacrosse Foundation World Championship in Baltimore. Both Rule and Driscoll are designated "truly great players."
Bob Rule was first team All-America goalie one time and won the C. Markland Kelly Award as the outstanding Division I goalie. He played for the US team in 1974 and was a two-year club player. Rule was a 15-year Manhasset High School assistant coach. He is a member of the Long Island Chapter Hall of Fame.
John Driscoll was a first team All-America midfielder one time and second team another time. He won the MacLaughlin award in 1980 as the outstanding Division I midfielder. In '82 and '86 he was a member of the US team. He was a 13-year club player on Long Island (six time club all-star). He is a member of the Long Island Chapter Hall of Fame and the Virginia Hall of Fame.
